Well, we are nearly finished with the save the dates! They'll be in the mail this week I hope. We've been working on the wedding website as well, which will be up and running shortly.

The holiday season went well.  We were very busy, visiting all the families.  Between Christmas and New Year's Eve, Meredith and I planned to attend the Ignite conference in Columbus, Ohio.  I was supposed to drive my car down there, however I crashed it returning a movie I didn't even like that happened to be 6 days late!  In the end, that movie is costing me way more than I thought it would!  We took Meredith's car instead and the conference was great!

While the car is in the shop I have a rental car, which the insurance company is paying for.  I'm thankful for that.  The only problem is, I left my auxiliary cord and GPS charger in the car, so I can't use any of my toys!

It has been FREEZING in Michigan lately!  Though I'm going for work, I'm really looking forward to my California and Florida trips this year for a break from the cold.  I'm going to San Francisco and LA from January 14th through the 19th, then Miami and Sarasota from the 21st to the 27th.  Not too bad!  It's a lot of travel, but after that I'll actually have some down time!

In planning for our wedding, Meredith and I both agreed that photography was going to be one of the most important things for us to spend a decent amount of money on.  We wanted to have somebody we could trust to document all the special moments for us to look back on.  Luckily, we knew just who to turn to.  My friend Curtis Wiklund, who I know from New Life Church in Ann Arbor, is a fantastic photographer!  After checking out some of his work, Meredith and I were confident that we wanted Curtis to shoot both our wedding and engagement photos.

Well, we just got our engagement photos back and Curtis and his wife Jordin did an AMAZING job!  It makes me all the more excited for the wedding photos!  We were able to put together a custom package that suited both our particular needs and budget.  They made us feel so at ease during the entire process (which is hard to do because I reeeaaaally don't like having my picture taken).  They paid such great attention to the details and even brought along water and snacks during the shoot.  When we went to pick up the photos, they had set up a whole viewing station complete with Christmas Crack (holiday treats that are hard to stop eating once you start, hahaha).  We sat and watched a slideshow of our photos to music while munching on snacks.  All around it was a great experience!

In addition to photography, Curtis does just about anything creative you could possibly think of.  He's definitely one to follow!  If you ever need any photography done, I would recommend Curtis in a heartbeat!

...for the hundredth time.

I always think to myself, "hey, this person's blog is interesting! I wonder if I'm interesting..."

Then I start a blog and run out of things to write about. Well, I don't really run out of things to write about. I just forget to do it. When things are happening, I don't have time to write about them. When I have time to write, it's because things are slow.

I'll kick off the blog with a quick update on my life.

Right now things are slow. Not in every aspect of life, but when it comes to my job and traveling, things have relatively slowed down. So far this year I've attended 10 Portfolio Days for work. One of these portfolio days we hosted at the University and I was essentially responsible for around 500 high school students and over 100 Reps from 36 Art schools around the country. So when I say things are "slow" it means I'm in town for a complete work week and my next trip isn't until mid-January. It feels good to sleep in my own bed, buy a gallon of milk that I can finish drinking before it goes bad, and have clean underwear (always nice!).

Outside of my job, things are VERY busy! If you haven't heard, I'm getting married to the amazing and beautiful Meredith Reynolds! The wedding will take place on May 22, 2010. It seems like a long time from now, but it's really not. We have a lot of planning to do between now and then. Yikes...

However, registering was fun! Honestly I never thought I would get excited about decorative pillows until I had that little scanner in my hand walking around Bed Bath & Beyond. I got pretty worked up about a cutting board too. We also registered at Target, but because we were scanning home goods at Bed Bath & Beyond, we pretty much scanned a bunch of board games and a wii at Target. I'm hoping someone buys the wii and we don't just get a bunch of wii games. How cruel would that be? I would probably just be forced to go buy the wii myself. Worth it. Mer and I played that new Super Mario Bros Wii last night. You know, the one with the side scroll. It was awesome! I was literally screaming during one of the levels. You can play simultaneously, as opposed to taking turns, so although that presented some initial challenges (a worthwhile pre-marital lesson in communication skills) we got the hang of it.

The holiday season is making me really excited for when Mer and I have our own place. My mom used to always decorate the house for each season and Christmas was always my favorite. I have a feeling I'll go a little overboard the first year to compensate for not having an actual size Christmas tree the last 4 years. Plus, getting married, my mother is going to give me my box of Christmas ornaments. Apparently I need a woman to make sure I don't break or lose them. I kind of do...

So to end this post, I just want to throw a couple of images at you that remind me of the Holiday season when I was growing up.



By far, the BEST cookie in the entire world! They can only be made during the Christmas season. It's limited availability makes them even better!!!

The only downside is that they're bite size. This means I can eat about 12 of them before I realize, "hey I think I'm going to throw up."

We pretty much watch it every year and it always seems to put me in the holiday mood.
